Today is Samsung Day! The company took the stage at the Galaxy Unpacked event in August 2022 and unveiled a number of new products and foldable phones. Galaxy Z Flip 4, Galaxy Z Fold 4, Galaxy Buds 2 Pro and the new Galaxy Watch 5 all debut upgrades.
With Samsung’s foldable phones, we’re not getting a significant jump from last year in terms of looks, but Samsung has added some notable improvements to the cameras, battery life, and hey, the S-pen is back. In case it wasn’t clear, foldable phones are here to stay, and Samsung is leading the charge.
Today, the company unveiled its best wireless headphones, but packed with features in a small shell, and for those who love the outdoors, there’s the new Galaxy Watch 5 Pro.
Like previous Samsung Galaxy Unpacked events, every product below is available for pre-order starting today, and all will be available by the end of the month. Here’s everything you need to know about Samsung’s big event.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4
If you weren’t the biggest fan of the Galaxy Z Flip 3, go ahead and pass on this latest model. However, for those who find this unique foldable phone amazing, you’ll be happy to hear that it just got better.
With the newly improved Galaxy Z Flip 4, Samsung managed to make the gap between the screens even thinner. Speaking of that screen, the “glass” inside is more durable than previous models, but it’s no Gorilla Glass Victus. Perhaps the biggest improvement is the battery, which is in dire need of an upgrade. The new Flip 4 has a large 3,700mAh battery, which should offer better battery life than last year’s 3,000mAh option.
Unfortunately, that’s not the case, despite rumors of a larger bezel display, which was one of our complaints about last year’s model. We still get the same 1.9-inch overlay screen, but it has new options and customization controls. We get the latest Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 Chip, 8GB of RAM and plenty of storage.
Like its predecessor, the Galaxy Z Flip 4 starts at $999. Buyers can upgrade to 256 or even 512GB, but it will cost you more. Pre-orders are available starting today, August 10th at the link below.

Samsung improves the folding experience with the Galaxy Z Flip 4. Not only does it pack a powerful Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, it also offers longer battery life than the previous model.
Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro
Last year, Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 4 was a big step forward for a non-Apple smartwatch. Running the latest Wear OS in collaboration with Google, Samsung and Fitbit, it had a lot to offer. New for 2022, the Galaxy Watch 5 features a sleek design, wear-and-tear-resistant sapphire glass displays, all-day battery life, and many different color and band options.
With the Galaxy Watch 5 series, Samsung ditched the fan-favorite rotating bezel and gave the front a clean and sleek design. Inside, we get the same processor, specs and software, but Samsung has increased battery life on all three models.
Yes, there’s a 40mm, 44mm and brand new 45mm Galaxy Watch Pro, and this latest model has a 60% larger battery than the Galaxy Watch 4.
Samsung’s new watches have tons of new software to take advantage of health and fitness options, a BioActive sensor, and a new Infrared temperature sensor for more accurate readings. Additionally, the bottom panel has a larger surface area, making everything from sleep tracking to EKG more reliable than previous Galaxy Watch variants.
The Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro are available for pre-order starting today, August 10, with a release date set for August 26. The smaller Watch 5 costs $279.99 for the Bluetooth version and $329.99 for the LTE version. Then, the tough new Galaxy Watch 5 Pro will set you back $449.

The Galaxy Watch 5 has a new temperature sensor and durable Sapphire Crystal glass. The larger battery ensures all-day use, while the new fast charge gives eight hours of sleep tracking after just eight minutes of charging.

The sporty Galaxy Watch 5 Pro features a 45mm display with durable Sapphire Crystal glass and a titanium case. It adds GPS support with voice navigation and a battery that lasts more than three days.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4
Next up is Samsung’s flagship foldable smartphone, the Galaxy Z Fold 4, and this year it comes with two S-Pen stylus options. Given that there is no longer a Galaxy Note device, the Fold will have to do.
Surprisingly, Samsung continues to drastically improve the Fold with each new generation, while keeping the overall look and design largely the same. There are subtle external differences with the Z Fold 4, but you’ll be happy to know that it fixes most of the issues with the previous models.
This latest foldable device has a wider display, smaller gaps in the hinge, an improved display that should be more durable, and last but not least, advanced cameras to match its $1,799 price tag. Yes, it’s still waterproof.
Speaking of cameras, this is the most significant leap here. Samsung has removed the 12MP main camera from the Fold 3 and put in a powerful new 50MP main camera for the new Galaxy Z Fold 4. Finally. It also has the same 12MP ultra-wide sensor, 10MP telephoto lens, and a similar 10MP flip-up selfie camera. After folding it, if you look closely, there is still a camera under the 4MP display for video calls.
In terms of specs, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 has been upgraded to Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip, so it will be more powerful than the Galaxy S22 Ultra. You’ll get 12GB RAM, 256/512/1TB RAM options and the same fast charging speeds. And yes, you read that right. The Fold 4 now has a 1TB option.
The Galaxy Z Fold 4 is compatible with the S Pen Fold Edition and the S Pen Pro, but the stylus only works on the internal display.
Pre-orders for the Galaxy Z Fold 4 open on August 10, 2022. We don’t have a release date yet, but the phone will retail for the usual $1,799 price tag and will be available at all major carriers and retailers. As in previous years, Samsung will offer several shopping discounts and special offers to offset that eye-watering price tag, especially if you go with 512GB of storage. Grab one from our link below.

Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 Pro
Finally, Samsung has introduced a new pair of wireless headphones that have a lot to offer. The new Galaxy Buds 2 Pro are 15% smaller than the previous generation, but offer improved sound and longer battery life. That means they’ll be more comfortable, sound better, and should deliver Samsung’s best headphone experience to date.
More specifically, the new Buds 2 Pro have a neat “intelligent active noise cancellation” feature instead of 2-stage ANC, which helps block out more noise than previous models. We’ll have to test it against ANC from Sony and Bose before commenting, but it sounds promising.
While the Buds 2 Pro are getting a price bump, selling for $230, users get improved audio with 24-bit Hi-Fi sound, 360-degree “spatial sound,” intelligent active noise cancellation, and a more secure fit.
Samsung says the Buds 2 Pro will get 5 hours of battery life with ANC or 8 hours of listening time with ANC off. Thankfully, the charging case has a larger 500mAh battery this year, giving you an extra 20 hours of listening time, or 30 hours without ANC.
Like everything else announced today, the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro are available for pre-order in purple, white, or graphite, and will retail for $229 when they arrive on August 26. Samsung will throw in a free wireless charging pad if you pre-order one.

Samsung’s new top-of-the-line truly wireless headphones support high-quality sound and active noise cancellation (ANC), but you only get all the features when using them on a Samsung Galaxy phone or tablet.
